Old Dominion University’s Digital Marketing Bootcamp provides numerous opportunities to apply your skills to the real world, including hands-on exercises, agency-simulated projects, and project-based lessons.
You’ve done the hard work – we want to make sure you’re able to show it off to potential employers. Throughout the program, you’ll have the opportunity to build a robust and well-rounded digital portfolio that spotlights your different creative projects and skills, positioning you as a highly qualified candidate for digital marketing roles.
Program participants enjoy real-time classroom instruction from the comfort of their homes. Our classes can be attended remotely and include virtual, instructor-led Q&A sessions allowing students to get feedback and clarification on coursework as needed.
At the beginning of the program, students will form agency-like groups, assuming a role they’re passionate about pursuing upon program completion. In these groups, you’ll work on a wide variety of projects commonly experienced in an agency setting, including constructing brand architecture, pitch decks, creative briefs, and more. With a dedicated budget and real clientele, you’re able to gain first-hand experience you can showcase when applying for a job in the field.

Our unique introductory course gives students a chance to experience what life is like in digital marketing before they commit to the full program. Students learn industry terminology, how various advertising platforms work, and the basics of SEO, PPC, and social networks.
Ensure your newly-acquired skills are noticed in the job market with help from our Career Services specialists. Services provided through the course include: job and internship placement assistance, networking opportunities, interview training, and one-on-one sessions dedicated to helping students build their resumes, portfolios, and more.
This course introduces students to marketing essentials such as the five W’s and four P’s, inbound vs. outbound marketing, buyer personas, the digital marketing funnel, data analytics and integrity, and branding.
Hone your content marketing skills and learn how to develop high-converting, targeted content for different audiences at each phase of the marketing funnel. You’ll work on crafting content plans and writing copy for various online platforms such as social media, blogs, forums, and websites.
In this course, you’ll learn how to develop and maintain customer relationships, while also exploring how to handle online interactions with customers. Additionally, you’ll deep dive into customer lifetime value and the profitability of affiliate marketing programs.
Students learn CSS and HTML functions to build their own branded WordPress site. The course includes how to use WordPress features such as themes, plugins, and promotion tools, as well as how to publish content.
Learn how to create websites audiences love by understanding the behavior and needs of online users. The course covers interface adaptation, user interface, and design best practices, banner creation, and more.
As more people turn to online purchases, understanding e-commerce is crucial to business success. In this course, you’ll learn how to build an e-store that integrates with eBay, Etsy, Shopify, and other platforms. You’ll also learn about managing vendors, logistics, and pricing.
Marketers can’t optimize a business’s online marketing assets without data analytics. This course trains students on Google Analytics and web metrics such as number of unique visitors, bounce rate, conversion rate and average time on page to understand digital performance.
This course focuses on one of the most valuable marketing tools used to drive traffic to websites. You’ll learn about keyword research, link building, and SEO best practices, and will work directly with Google Analytics, Google Trends, and other relevant tools.
Automated email marketing campaigns can streamline lead nurturing and save organizations money. This course reviews how to engage leads throughout the nurturing lifecycle and also how to increase sales using automation software.
Marketing and advertising on social media are key to increasing brand recognition and customer loyalty, among other business objectives. This course trains students to launch and measure campaigns on Facebook, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, and several other platforms. Through applied exercises, students also prepare for the Facebook Blueprint Certification exam.
The SEM course covers the ins and outs of pay-per-click (PPC) marketing, campaign building, ad placement, reducing PPC costs, and more. Students are prepared for the Google AdWords Certification exam and learn how to use Google Tag Manager and Google Ads Editor.
This course combines the knowledge and skills students have acquired from the previous courses into a concluding lesson on how to build effective short- and long-term digital marketing strategies. The course also reviews how programmatic advertising and real-time bidding (RTB) fit into marketing strategy.
